In Guy Krneta's play score, 6-year-old Ursel fights against the overpowering, dead brother Urs. He was three when he fell out of the window and since then Ursel's life, stylized as the ideal son by his grieving parents, has made Ursel's life a hell. With a lot of liveliness and humor Ursel fights back to save her own identity and self-confidence and to make her parents familiar with reality again. After all, she is not an angel but a girl of flesh and blood.

About the production:
In Ursel the death of a family member becomes a crucial test for all her members and especially for Ursel. Alongside and with the ghost of her dead brother, she threatens to lose her identity and her vitality and the feeling of being loved and perceived by her parents, which is essential for survival. Therefore she flees into a dream in which the funeral she observes becomes a super show. Ursel creates the mourning ritual in her dream and turns it into her own big event: ponies pull the coffin, the gravestone is oversized (much bigger than Urs') and in the inn she is allowed to eat fries. She modifies and expands the ritual with her own fantasy and thus makes it a praise of herself. From this she gains the strength to be able to change the situation of the family and bring it back to the present. The staging follows the Swiss author's extraordinarily sensitive and humorous way of dealing with the taboo subject of death and places particular emphasis on the rhythm and condensations of this language composition. Hence the casting of Ursel with two actresses, who shape the changing aspects and motivations of Ursel to a haunting liveliness.

URSEL

In Guy Krnetas Stück-Partitur kämpft die 6 jährige Ursel gegen den übermächtigen, toten Bruder Urs. Er war drei, als er aus dem Fenster fiel und seitdem macht der von den trauernden Eltern zum Idealsohn stilisierte Urs Ursels Leben zur Hölle. Mit viel Lebendigkeit und Humor setzt sich Ursel zur Wehr, um die eigene Identität und ihr Selbstbewußtsein zu retten und ihre Eltern wieder mit der Realität vertraut zu machen. Schließlich ist sie ja kein Engel sondern ein Mädchen aus Fleisch und Blut.

Zur Inszenierung:
In Ursel wird der Tod eines Familienmitglieds zur Zerreißprobe für all ihre Mitglieder und besonders für Ursel. Sie droht neben und mit dem Gespenst ihres toten Bruders ihre Identität und ihre Lebendigkeit und das überlebensnotwendige Gefühl, von ihren Eltern geliebt und wahrgenommen zu werden, zu verlieren. Daher flüchtet sie in einen Traum, in dem die von ihr beobachtete eigene Beerdigung zur Supershow wird. Ursel gestaltet das Trauerritual in ihrem Traum und macht daraus ihren eigenen Großevent: Ponys ziehen den Sarg, der Grabstein ist überdimensional groß (viel größer als der vom Urs) und im Gasthaus darf sie Pommes essen. Sie modifiziert und erweitert das Ritual um ihre eigene Fantasie und macht es somit zu einem Loblied auf sich selbst. Sie gewinnt daraus die Kraft, die Situation der Familie verändern zu können und diese in die Gegenwart zurückzuholen. Die Inszenierung folgt der außergewöhnlich sensiblen und humorvollen Art und Weise des Schweizer Autors sich mit dem Tabu-Thema Tod auseinanderzusetzen und legt besonders Wert auf den Rhythmus und die Verdichtungen dieser Sprach-Komposition. Daher auch die Besetzung der Ursel mit 2 Schauspielerinnen, die die wechselnden Aspekte und Motivationen Ursels zu eindringlicher Lebendigkeit gestalten.
